Congratulations Apex for winning the World Chase Tag USA tournament, you all performed fantastically on the Quad! Made up of an extremely strong team of athletes, all ranking silver and gold on their stat cards, Rob Schihl ranking 2nd and Michael Sliger ranking 5th of the 96 athletes in the competition! Each athlete brought something unique to the team, coordinated perfectly by team captain Amos Rendao. Seth Wang and Jason Bergeron brought pure speed to the Quad, making them formidable opponents and a pleasure to watch chase. We can’t wait to see what Apex brings to WCT USA 2021, can they defend their title?
Newcomers, 5 Borough from New York, battled through one of the hardest group stages, winning against seasoned WCT team GNF! Each athlete brought their own creative style to each chase, with Luciano's ground based movement showing his wrestling background, he made an impressive 5 second tag on Seth Ruji to win the match! Deyvid Garcia, who unfortunately passed away recently, will definitely be remembered for his energy and athleticism opening the competition. His creativity opened up new and unique routes around the Quad that we've never seen before WCT USA!
Team Antidote competed exceptionally in their final game against HUB PTC, but after a narrow loss they are exiting the tournament. With 3 gold tier athletes ranking in the top 30 and Sean Law ranking 6th out of all 96 athletes who competed in WCT USA, Antidote gave an amazing performance! We can’t wait to see them again soon!
APK Blue, chosen as the A team for American Parkour, had some of the most formidable athletes on their team. With Sarin Suvanasai, the rhino, bulldozing through the quad and getting several spike tags in the competition! And Eric Wolff delivering some of the more exciting and fast paced chases we’ve seen so far! The whole team executed movements through the obstacles, like Matthew Brother Watchman’s dive tag through the ridge, we didn’t think were possible! Unfortunately, they went out in the Quarter Finals against their sister team APK Grey, in one of the most intense matches of WCT USA so far!
APK Grey, the fan favourites of WCT USA 2020! They may not have won the competition but they won our hearts with a fantastic athletic performance! Selected as the B team for American Parkour, they came out on top of the A team, with standout players like Mark Bowles winning 2/3’s of the teams overall evasions and ranking 3rd of all 96 athletes. As well as Ethan Guzman who ranked 9th of 96 athletes, down to his flirting skills and insane speed 🤣 And let’s not forget Ashlee Johnson's insane clutch tag on Sarin Suvanasai at a pivotal moment in their match against APK Blue! We can’t wait to see you compete in WCT USA, this year!
Team Empire, straight from New York to take on the Quad! With some of the most exciting matches in group C, Empire brought some brilliant strategies, with Falco's unique chasing style! Unfortunately, Vert injured himself during training and couldn't compete, leaving the team one man down, but he continued to stand by his team, captaining all the way! Being in one of the tightest groups, with every team getting a win, having one fewer team member did unfortunately cost them greatly! Regardless of this they put up an amazing fight, and we can't wait to see Team Empire compete in World Chase Tag again!
Enso Movement put up a good fight throughout their matches! They were in one of the toughest groups, going up against Kyle Soderman whilst he was still fresh, and this slow start was costly to their overall position in the group stages. However, they still delivered some of the most exciting moments in Group A, with Ben's open juke and Gabriel's last second dive-tag!
Congratulations GNF for placing 3rd in WCT USA! With star leadership from Seth Ruji, who ranked 8th out of the 96 athletes in the competition, and Davis Vasconcellos ranking 4th! Bear achieved a 100% tag rate, which is incredible for his first time on the Quad! And who else was amazed by Julius Porter's insane save on the mountain in their final match with APK Grey?! Looking forward to seeing you all again for WCT USA 2021!
Hollywood Freerunners, bringing Hollywood stunts to the WCT Quad with an incredible athletic performance! Congratulations on coming second place! Stand out athletes like Miguel Diaz showed some of the greatest progression, upping his evasion strategy throughout the competition and showing us some real talent on the quad! As well as team captain Omar Zaki who took one of the heaviest slams in WCT history but pulled on through and kept on chasing as though it was nothing! And last but not least, Kyle Soderman, not only doubling the world record for consecutive evasions, but also ranking number 1 out of the 96 athletes who competed in WCT USA 2020!We're very excited to see what Hollywood Freerunners can do on the quad this year and see how they learn from their previous quad experience! Keep chasing and don't get caught...“Cut cut cut, go go go!” 🏃♂️💨
HUB PTC are a very strong and well rounded team, being one of the few wct teams with all athletes getting an evasion. With standout athletes like Sparsha Pun (from Nepal) and Evan Beyer producing some amazing moments on the Quad and Team Captain Dylan Polin showing his strong leadership and tactics in getting the team into the quarter finals!
No Cap brought their exciting Texan energy to the Quad and produced some amazing performances in their matches! Ranking 11th of the 96 athletes in WCT USA, Jarrod Luty is definitely someone to look out for in future competitions. Not to mention, Joey Adrian easily had some of the most exciting chases in the competition so far!
Team OLLO, captained by Fernando Arce, the raptor 🦖 OLLO played some very close games throughout the tournament, contributing some of the most exciting matches of Group B! Their star athlete Stephen McCarty achieving gold tier with a 90% tag rate and Emic Kitsen executing some of the craziest dive tags we’ve seen! We can’t wait to see what they bring next time to the competition!
Team SoFlo brought huge enthusiasm and positive energy to the competition! But they leave on a high having seen huge progression throughout the group stages! With SoFlo taking on on APK Grey and winning on a sudden death chase off, as well as Jonathan Alfonseca ranking in the top 20 athletes from World Chase Tag USA! See you on the Quad again soon 👊🔥
It was an honour to have Tempest compete in WCT USA! They are one of the largest and most well-known Parkour teams in the USA, and although they did not make it through the group stages, they still gave an impressive athletic performance on the Quad! With 3 of their athletes getting 100% tag rates! Tempest has said they would like to compete again, and we cannot wait to see what they’ll bring to World Chase Tag next time!
Try Hard Collective tried very hard in this World Chase Tag USA competition, truly living up to their name! With Cian O’Maitiu ranking 7th out of the 96 athletes who competed! Even when the team were down 6-0 against Hollywood Freerunners in their playoff match they managed to keep the team moral high and bring the score back up by 3 points. We can't wait to see what they can do on the quad next year!
Stardust Crusaders, Unknown Project, were the last New York team left standing but will be unfortunately leaving WCT USA after a fantastic match with Hollywood Freerunners in the Quarter Finals. With Laine Cammarata ranking in the top 20 of 96 athletes and Captain Christopher Piccirello being the 2nd highest ranking Captain in the tournament. We can safely say that the team did New York proud! Ps.Rock. Always Rock. ✂️
